Langley Park, in the Browney valley

Old terraces, new estates, one river

Langley Park is two villages in one. Railway Street has barely changed since it went up in the late 1800s, in the years of the colliery, which ran from 1873 to 1975. Around it, several new housing developments have gone up in recent years, bringing new residents and a lot of new gardens.

New build gardens often need work before a lawn really takes, and older gardens have usually had years to get away from their owners. Both want the same thing: setting up properly once, then keeping on top of.

Just north of the village the River Browney has recovered from a century of industry, and otters are back fishing it. The Lanchester Valley Railway Path, part of National Cycle Route 14, runs along the northern edge. Reggie Tribuisis owns the company and does the work, from our unit in Sacriston a couple of miles away.

Who we work for in Langley Park

Gardens first, grounds as well

A growing village with its own parish council and the A691 running through it. These are the people we are set up to help.

cottage New build homeowners Turf that needs feeding and aerating to take properly, boundary hedges to establish, fencing and patios. A lawn set up well in its first years is far easier to keep.
home Older homes and terraces Hedges cut back, overgrown gardens cleared, green waste taken away, and regular lawn cutting if you would rather not.
account_balance Parish and community ground Esh Parish Council, which covers Langley Park, lists grass cutting, play areas and grounds maintenance among what it provides. For parish and community ground we work to a written schedule a clerk can check.
business Businesses on and off the A691 Frontages, verges and car park edges for shops and commercial premises on the road through the village.

FAQs

Langley Park questions

Ask anything else when you ring.

Can you sort out the lawn on a new build?expand_more
Yes. Aeration and feeding, fresh turf where the original has failed, and a regular cut once it has taken. Turfing, fencing and patios are all part of the garden work we carry out.
Our garden runs down towards the river or the railway path. Anything to know?expand_more
Boundary hedges beside open land are cut outside the bird nesting season, and green waste is taken off site rather than left at the bottom of the garden.
When can hedges be cut?expand_more
Autumn and winter, once the bird nesting season has finished. Active nests are protected by law and the nesting season runs from roughly March to August, so hedge work is planned around it rather than squeezed in. If something has to be cut inside that window for a genuine safety reason, the hedge is checked for nests first.
What happens to the green waste?expand_more
It is taken off site and disposed of responsibly rather than piled at the boundary. Wildflower meadow arisings are cut and collected rather than left, because leaving them enriches the soil and the flowers stop coming back.
Who would we be dealing with?expand_more
Reggie Tribuisis, the director. He provides direct oversight on every contract.
