Bishop Auckland

Big green spaces deserve a steady hand

Bishop Auckland is a town built around open ground. Auckland Castle sits in 800 acres of parkland that the Bishops of Durham once hunted in, and the town adds recreation grounds at Cockton Hill, Henknowle and the Town ground on top of that. Grass on that scale is the kind our gallery is full of: long stripes, clean edges, and a round that suits the site.

The town sits where the River Gaunless meets the Wear, so plenty of ground here runs down to water and banks. That changes how a site is cut and when, and it is the kind of thing Reggie notes on the walk round before he prices anything.

We are based at Unit 4 Plawsworth Road in Sacriston, about 11 miles north of the town centre. Bishop Auckland is one of the areas we cover.

Who we work for in Bishop Auckland

From council ground to the back garden

The town has a Town Council of its own, brought back in 2007, with Durham County Council as the unitary council above it. Here is who we can help.

account_balance Town and parish councils Bishop Auckland Town Council looks after allotment sites across the town, from The Pollards on Etherley Lane to Tindale Crescent. Hedges, paths and shared grass on ground like that, on a schedule a clerk can take to committee.
elderly Care homes and schools Front lawns residents look out on every day, and school grounds that need cutting outside the busy hours. Risk assessments and method statements are available before the first visit.
apartment Managing agents and commercial sites Shared open space on housing estates, shop and office frontages, and business premises. One written schedule and one number to ring if something needs looking at.
home Homeowners Garden tidy ups, lawns brought back into shape, turfing, fencing and patios. Most of our work is commercial, but houses in and around Bishop Auckland are taken on as well.

Reggie Tribuisis

Director, Reggie T Landscapes Ltd

He owns the company and he is still the one on the mower. In Bishop Auckland you get the director, not a crew you have never met.

“Excellent work by Reggie to transform the garden into a space that is a pleasure to sit in. Very friendly and nothing was a bother.” Ian Robinson, Google review. Every review on the profile is five stars.

FAQs

Bishop Auckland questions

Not answered here? Ring Reggie and ask.

Bishop Auckland is 11 miles from you. Is that a problem?expand_more
No. It is well inside the area we cover, which runs south as far as Darlington and Barnard Castle. Visits are planned into a round, so the distance does not change the service.
Can you cut ground that runs down to the river?expand_more
Yes, and it is looked at properly first. Banks and ground near the Wear or the Gaunless are walked before a price is given, so the method and the kit suit the slope and the access.
Who would we be dealing with?expand_more
Reggie Tribuisis, the director. He provides direct oversight on every contract.
How often would you visit?expand_more
It changes through the year rather than staying fixed. Fortnightly from the first cut in spring, moving to every seven to ten days through peak growth in June and July, then easing off into autumn. The schedule is agreed and written down before the first visit.
Do you do gardens in Bishop Auckland as well as commercial sites?expand_more
Yes. Garden maintenance, turfing, fencing, decking and patios are all carried out, alongside the commercial grounds work.
