Grounds maintenance in Wolsingham
Grass, hedges and seasonal work for the parish, its schools, churchyards and the bigger gardens of Wolsingham. We are based in Sacriston, about 12 miles away, and Reggie does the work himself.
Wolsingham, Weardale
Where the beck meets the Wear
Wolsingham is a small town of under 3,000 people, sitting where Waskerley Beck runs into the River Wear. It has its own parish council, which looks after a park, a sports pitch, a cemetery, allotments and footpaths. Those are exactly the kinds of ground that need cutting on a written schedule rather than whenever someone has a free afternoon.
The grass here grows on river ground and hill ground, and a lot of it is open to the public. Down by the beck at the Demesne Mill picnic site, a couple of hundred yards off the Market Place, people sit on the grass all summer. The whole place fills up for the agricultural show on the first weekend of September, when well over 30,000 people a day come through.
We will be straight about distance. Our base in Sacriston is about 12 miles away in a straight line, which puts it among the further places we cover. It is on our Google profile as one of the areas we cover, and the owner still turns up for the work himself.
